The Guide is an emotional journey through a life of extremes—from dysfunction to reconciliation, football player to decorated combat Marine, a veteran battling PTSD to a man of faith, a struggling student to a successful businessman, and abandoned son to father of child stars. As a speaker, I’ve told these stories to audiences many times; how I did cocaine with my drug-addicted dad at the age of thirteen; how I would brawl with just about anybody from the age of eight until I found God at the age of twenty; a behind-the-headlines look at invading Kuwait to take it back from Saddam Hussein in 1991; and how I finally gave up my fight against believing in God and ended up starting my own church with a group of like-minded pastors.
